On February 16, 2010, St. Croix EDC joined the Momentum West as nearly 70 of west central Wisconsin’s business, education and government leaders met with state legislators at Momentum West’s Legislative Day in Madison.
The event included a lunch briefing, followed by visits to state legislators and a networking reception. The Legislative Day highlighted issues of regional concern to create awareness among the state’s legislators. Issues included economic development, education, transportation, taxes and agriculture.

In 2005 the economic development corporations from Polk, St. Croix, and Pierce counties joined together to form its first annual legislative advocacy event in Madison on March 8-9, 2006.
On February 13-14, 2007 about 45 leaders from St. Croix, Polk, and Pierce counties participated in the second annual United St. Croix Valley Legislative Days in Madison.
Ten teams comprised of three or four citizen advocates met with state representatives and senators or their respective staffs to discuss legislative issues of importance to the St. Croix Valley. Issues were grouped into three major themes - economic development, transportation, and workforce-education. The issues were published in a legislative booklet that was left at the end of each appointment.
