Up to nineteen individuals from all parts of St. Croix County serve on the corporation's board. They include public officials and private sector business people. These volunteer directors provide policy direction for the EDC's full-time and part-time staff. The directors serve initial 3-year terms, and are eligible to serve a maximum of two full terms.

The board meets on the second Tuesday of each month to conduct regular business. In February the EDC's holds its Business of the Year Banquet proceeded by a short business meeting. At the annual meeting in May, a new slate of officers and directors are elected. The EDC does not conduct regular business meetings in June or August. The July meeting is a short business meeting followed with a social dinner for the board members and staff.
